International Arrival in Canada

  • Please be sure to pack your ski/board boots as carry-on luggage. In the event of lost luggage, we can always assist you with locating other outerwear, but happy feet make happy heliskiers.
  • Be sure to have all the necessary documentation.


Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Downtown Vancouver

  • Budget approximately CAD $35 per taxi.
  • Upon request we can pre-book a limousine for your Vancouver transfers.

Pre and Post Heliskiing Hotels in Vancouver

  • All guests are strongly encouraged to book a pre-heliskiing night at one of our recommended Vancouver hotels. This ensures that you are on our schedule and therefore our responsibility.
  • Choose your post heliskiing hotel room based on your travel plans:
    Either downtown at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel or at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel (the entrance to which is adjacent to US Departures)


Departure from Vancouver to Last Frontier Heliskiing

    Bell 2 Lodge
  • Meet in the lobby of the hotel for ground transfer to the Vancouver Airport’s South Terminal: Fairmont Waterfront Hotel at 08h00 or at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel at 08h45
  • Depart via PRIVATE Charter flight to Bob Quinn Lake Airfield
  • Depart Bob Quinn Lake Airfield to lodge by bus
  • Good weather arrival time at lodge: 15h00
  • Poor weather arrival time at lodge:17h00 [Bob Quinn Lake Airfield is a VFR (visual approach only) and when it cannot be used, we land in Smithers and transfer by bus to Bell2 Lodge]

    In cases when our private charter flight does not operate, alternative flight arrangements will be made. The transfer schedule will be confirmed at time of final payment.

    Ripley Creek Inn
    Option 1:
  • Overnight in Vancouver the night before transfer to the inn
  • Fly Vancouver Airport’s South Terminal to Terrace
  • Ground transfer from Terrace/Kitimat airport to Ripley Creek departs: 13h00
  • Arrive in Stewart: 17h00
  • We can arrange your return domestic flights from Vancouver to Terrace

    Option 2:
  • Fly Vancouver Airport’s South Terminal to Terrace the night before ground transfer to the inn
  • Overnight at Best Western Hotel in Terrace
  • Ground transfer from Best Western in Terrace to Ripley Creek departs: 13h30
  • We can arrange your return domestic flights from Vancouver to Terrace

Check-in at the Lodge (either Bell 2 Lodge or Ripley Creek Inn)

  • Upon arrival at the lodge, you will attend an informal welcome session to meet the Last Frontier crew and to run through the daily schedule. At this time we will also explain our liability waiver form, which ALL guests must sign prior to skiing or boarding with us.

Skiing and Boarding Days

  • The Lead-Guide guide gives the day's weather forecast, snow conditions and specific departure times for each group. On your first day, your guide will instruct you on the use and care of the electronic avalanche transceiver. Everyone has an opportunity to practice several searches. Afterwards, you meet your pilot at the helicopter and go through a helicopter safety briefing. The first groups in each helicopter depart the lodge daily at aprx 09h15.
  • Mini water bottles are provided in each helicopter. If you have a personal water bottle or hydration device, we encourage you to bring it. Lots of vertical makes for thirsty skiers and boarders.

Please Note: Skiing/riding on Fridays generally ends at noon. We will do our best to meet guests desires to ski or ride more if possible.


Meals
- We aim to eat as well as we play.
  • A buffet breakfast is served daily at 07h30
  • Lunch is a relaxed picnic-style affair of homemade soup, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks AND CHOCOLATE
  • Après-ski snacks served in the bar
  • Dinner is served at 19h00
  • A good selection of beer, wine and spirits are available at both of our locations


Checkout day at the lodge, Bell 2 Lodge and Ripley Creek Inn

  • We ask that all guests have their bags packed and to be checked out of their rooms in the morning before skiing or boarding. Upon return to the lodge, there is time to shower and change into your travelling clothes.

Departure from Last Frontier Heliskiing to Vancouver

    Bell 2 Lodge
  • Ground transfer departs lodge: 13h00
  • Depart via PRIVATE Charter flight from Bob Quinn Lake Airfield to Vancouver Airport’s South Terminal
  • Good weather arrival time in Vancouver: 17h30
  • Poor weather arrival time at lodge: 19h00 – 21h00 [Bob Quinn Lake Airfield is a VFR (visual approach only) and when it cannot be used, we transfer by bus from Bell2 Lodge to Smithers]

    Ripley Creek Inn

  • Ground transfer departs the inn: 14h30
  • Fly Terrace to Vancouver Airport’s South Terminal
  • Arrive in Vancouver aprx: 22h00
  • Overnight in Vancouver
  • We can arrange your return domestic flights from Vancouver to Terrace


International Departures from Canada

  • We strongly encourage our clients to book their international flights to arrive in Vancouver the day before their trip starts and depart from Vancouver the day after their trip ends. Your heliski and heliboarding experience will be maximized with this program.
