Salomon Freeski TV Is Back!

Switchback Entertainment, based out of Whistler, BC, has been doing nothing other than straight killing it for seven seasons of Salomon Freeski TV, and have just launched their eighth season, recently dropping another banger episode, filmed in Japan at Rusutsu Resort! Headed up by local Whistler legend Mike Douglas, Switchback has produced a series that travels from Austria to Iceland to Alta, and has even been up to our lodges. In other words, Salomon Freeski TV knows how to hit the best places that you can hit when it comes to skiing.

Between a ski-superstar-studded on-screen roster and an exceptionally talented production team of cinematographers and editors behind the scenes, the Freeski TV crew is one of the most innovative and dialled crews out there, which shows with every episode that they release. Capturing the essence of the joy of skiing, the connection to the mountains, the relationship with the environment, the friendship between skiers, Salomon Freeski TV has become a staple in ski media, giving its devoted audience a window into the world that we all love (sometimes when we can’t be doing it ourselves).

If we can put aside our minor jealousy of these guys playing out in the mountains, watching this latest episode is nothing short of the usual awesome, as it brings the fun and playful spirit of the skiers that are in these episodes and captures their love for the finer things in life -skiing powder and having fun – two things we are very much in support of at Last Frontier.

Ladies and gentlemen, heliskiing in BC is unbeatable, and we were fortunate enough to get this talented crew (although a slight different onscreen lineup, Chris Rubens and Cody Townsend) up to our lodges to experience and showcase the breathtaking scenery and epic skiing of Last Frontier. Perhaps we are biased, but this is one of our favourite episodes – there is something about your favourite place on earth being presented in a way that actually captures its magnificence, incites the adrenaline and shares the love that is behind our operation that can’t help but make your heart and soul sing a little tiny bit. There are few skiers out there that are as know how to have as good of a time as Townsend and Rubens, and we love watching them ski the terrain out here the way that they do, as well as watch them experience the other local flavours the way that they did.

Long and short, it’s good to see the homegrown talent of this BC crew back at it for another season.
