WEATHER

Outlook 2016/17

A few months ago forecasters were predicting a strong La Ni·ña weather pattern for British Columbia. This has since been reduced to a mild La Ni·ña system. The good news is that La Ni·ña winters are the opposite of El Niño winters, which have brought above seasonal temperatures and below average snowfalls to Southern BC for the past two winters. With up to 25 meters of annual snowfall and our Northern BC location, regardless of the weather, we are looking forward to a great winter at Last Frontier.

Ski Smithers & Bell 2 Lodge

Are you heli skiing at Bell 2 Lodge this winter? Hudson Bay Mountain is our local ski hill, located just outside of Smithers. It is now open five days a week. This means it’s easier than ever to warm up the legs with a few days of resort skiing in advance of your heliski tour. Spend 2, 3 or 4 days in the charming Alpine Themed town while you ski uncrowded slopes.
