2025 Pre-Season Update

December 23, 2024 Last Frontier Heliskiing

Staff Training & Conditions

Last week staff training wrapped up at Bell 2 Lodge. Our guide crew were busy digging snow profiles, setting up remote cameras and getting landings flagged for the season. They also reviewed safety protocols and response capabilities, while making sure all the equipment is in place for the operating season. On the lodge end of things, staff went through their own training protocols and the team is ready to welcome our first guests of the season on December 28th.

After a very snowy start to winter in late November, December saw cold temps and dry conditions for much of the month. Our guides are reporting a snowpack that is a bit below seasonal for this time of the year with an alpine depth of 140 to 220cm [55” to 87”]. The good news is that we received 25cm [10”] of fresh snow overnight and it’s likely we will see another 20-30cm [7 -12”] before the weekend. Daily ski reporting will resume via our weather portal on December 29th.
