The Wild Within: British Columbia, Canada

The debate remains: can media capture and express what a first-hand experience is truly like? More so, can it send a person back to the way they felt when they were there? Can it move a person to explore a new place?

In their latest expression of our province’s beauty, Hello BC has shared a new short film: “The Wild Within: British Columbia, Canada.” But what’s behind this stunning footage? Is BC more than just a pretty face? “When I pause, listen, I hear it, the calling, a beacon to return to a place and myself: British Columbia.”

Behind each landscape, there is a story, and within each story, there is a wilderness. This wilderness is British Columbia, a place that is full of nature to be explored, secrets to be revealed and stories to be told. Ask anyone who has been to this special province, where water juts up against mountains and a changing sky cascades over the brilliant landscape, and they will tell you: this place possesses a wild abundance, an untouched authenticity, and an unexplored creativity. The combination of these things results in undertones of feeling within the environment that people have not taken over the place. In BC, the landscape still reigns. “British Columbia forces you to rethink life’s measure. What is big? What is power? What is important?”

As a result, BC is the best place on earth for outdoor adventurists. For anyone who wants to be immersed in a wild that has yet to be taken over by development, BC is the place (some roads don’t have lines painted on them, which albeit charming, can also be terrifying). Hiking, climbing, surfing, trail running, skiing, camping, kayaking – pick your explorative poison, and get yourself here to experience the magic. “To be amongst the elements, the purest water and air. Fertile abundance.”

Last Frontier Heliskiing is honoured to call BC home. The scale of the mountains, the abundance of snow, the depth of the landscape; all of these things come together to create a magic platform where people and place can connect. Heliskiing allows you to access some of the wildest places you have ever been, and skis are the perfect vehicle to carry you through them on an intimate level. Come see for yourself. There is no place like – lucky for us – home.
