En 1996, los socios fundadores George Rosset, Franz Fux, Mike Watling y Geoff Straight empezaron con los intentos de explorar las desconocidas cadenas montañosas del Norte de la Columbia Británica en Canadá haciendo primeros descensos en lo que se convertiría en Last Frontier Heliskiing.

Esta pasión por explorar y por la aventura la llevamos en nuestro ADN. Todo lo que hacemos en Last Frontier gira en torno de las montañas y a nuestro viaje de perseguir nieve.

En este lugar salvaje arriba en las montañas, lejos del mundanal ruido, de la rutina y repetición, nuestra familia está dedicada al oficio de producir una experiencia de heli-esquí especial para nuestros huéspedes porque apenas hay nada igual.

La Historia

  • Exploración inicial & Viabilidad
    1994

    Bell 2 Lodge fue descubierto en el corazón de las Montañas Skeena en el Norte de la Columbia Británica. Los socios fundadores George Rosset, Franz Fux, Mike Watling y Geoff Straight están fascinados del potencial del heli-esquí y empiezan a explorar la zona.

  • Los primeros descensos
    1996

    Last Frontier inicia una temporada de 8 semanas de heli-esquí de exploración utilizando un solo helicóptero A-Star con base en Bell 2 Lodge. Teton Gravity Research (TGR) aprovechan la oportunidad de visitar esta parte del mundo todavía por descubrir. Apareciendo en su película Re: “Session”.

  • El nacimiento de un pueblecito de heliski.
    1997-2003

    Una completa reconstrucción empezó para transformar Bell 2 Lodge en un pueblecito de heliski.

  • Una segunda casa
    2005

    Ripley Creek nace en la pequeña comunidad de Stewart, enfrente de Hyder, Alaska. Los Jefes de Guías George Feitzinger y Andre Ike exploran la zona estableciendo una nueva área de heli-esquí al completo, sondeando a fondo las Montañas Costeras.

  • Innovación en Seguridad
    2008

    Last Frontier se convierte en uno de los primeros operadores de la industria del heli-esquí en adoptar el uso obligatorio de “Airbags” para avalanchas para todos los huéspedes.

  • Expansión
    2010

    Un tercer helicóptero es añadido en Bell 2 Lodge, permitiendo mayor flexibilidad para grupos privados. La capacidad se eleva a 35 huéspedes.

  • Rejuvenecimiento
    2013

    Se completan las renovaciones para modernizar las zonas comunes en Bell 2 Lodge. El comedor y la recepción / tienda de regalos ven un buen cambio de cara.

  • El principio de un nuevo capítulo
    2014

    Los socios fundadores George Rosset y Franz Fux venden su parte en Last Frontier Heliskiing. Franz continua como guía y George es sucedido por Mike Watling en la posición de Socio Director.

    2015

    Last Frontier Heliskiing celebra su 20º aniversario.

  • Grupos más pequeños de 4
    2017

    Los grupos de 5 eran geniales, pero los grupos de 4 son todavía mejor. Podemos cargar más fuel en el helicóptero y así poder adentrarnos en nuestra enorme área de heli-esquí. Ahora tenemos 1 guía por cada 4 huéspedes en vez de 5 - también mejor.

    2017

    El Bar, la zona de entretenimiento y la Sala de TV y música ven una completa remodelación en Bell 2 Lodge. Al Bar en Ripley Creek también se le lava la cara.

We are currently seeking experienced Massage Therapists to fill positions in both our Northern BC heliski lodge locations – Bell 2 Lodge and Ripley Creek – for the winter 2019/2020 season.

The Massage Therapist is to perform professional massage treatments to our Heliskiing guests and host a stretch class every morning. This position is also responsible for preparing all daily massage equipment and supplies, as well as pre-booking any massage requests.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic, professional, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Skills and Core Competencies

  • Create and maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere, welcoming guests and introducing massage procedures
  • Offer professional massage treatments in accordance with accepted certification practices
  • Be flexible with your schedule to support the needs of the guests
  • Lead an approximate 45 minute stretch class every morning
  • Handle guest questions and concerns professionally, and courteously
  • Able to communicate effectively with clients, management and co-workers
  • Friendly personality and a genuine desire to help and please others
  • Able to connect, inform, and generate guests interest to ensure bookings
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing personality while maintaining a professional demeanor
  • Passion for working with people and the outdoors is an asset

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Deep Tissue and Sports Therapy required
  • Current RMT License or equivalent is an asset

We are currently seeking a motivated, efficient and organised individual to fill the seasonal role of Transfer Coordinator & Radio Dispatch, based at our Ripley Creek location – a busy heliski lodge in the remote town of Stewart, Northern BC.

The Transfer Coordinator/Radio Dispatcher is a dynamic and demanding position that requires a high level of organization and the ability to perform well under pressure. The Coordinator is the direct contact between the Lodge, Vernon Head Office, transportation suppliers, local concierge and guests, for all transfers to and from the Lodge. This involves creating manifests, tracking domestic flights, and booking appropriate vehicle transportation, as well as troubleshooting any unforeseen challenges as they occur. The Transfer Coordinator is combined with the Radio Dispatcher position which involves communicating with the helicopters, while tracking and recording all movements of machines, associated vehicles and skiers. The Radio Dispatcher is also often the first point of communication in the event of an emergency and will be responsible for all radio communications in an emergency response situation.

The ideal candidate is consistently systematic, structured and able to understand and interpret detailed and complex information, with exceptional attention to detail. Being service minded and an outgoing personality are helpful attributes to be successful throughout your busy shift. This high stress and critical position requires a confident person who can think quickly on their feet and make informed decisions with a sense of urgency. In this position, it is critical to have highly effective problem-solving skills, ability to take control of a situation, and delegate tasks when necessary.

Preferred Skills and Core Competencies

  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly with clients, management, supplies and co-workers using a variety of communication channels
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel (intermediate knowledge required)
  • Posses strong logistical skills and approach challenges in a logical manner

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Head Chef at our busy Ripley Creek location for the winter 2019/20 season. This is a dynamic and demanding role that incorporates recruiting and hiring all kitchen staff as well as daily tasks including ordering, inventory control, budget regulating, staff scheduling and menu creation. The Head Chef oversees all kitchen staff, operations and management while promoting a high level of food quality, in a remote location and a high-pressure environment. The Head Chef must manage the kitchen in compliance with all health and safety regulations by ensuring adherence to sanitary and safe food handling guidelines at all times.

Preferred Skills and Core Competencies

  • Assist in recruitment, training and development of all kitchen employees
  • Ensure consistent food preparation and presentation of the highest caliber for all meals for up to eighty
    people a day
  • Accurately record all inventory and keep concise ordering on a routine and regular basis
  • Organize products to ensure appropriate rotation to maintain freshness
  • Budget and forecast food costs per meal for guests and staff
  • Able to thrive in a diverse environment with a key focus on problem solving and guest satisfaction
  • Possess articulate communication skills required to interact effectively with guests, management,
    employees, and suppliers
  • Able to adapt quickly and respond to ever changing demands in a positive manner while under pressure
  • Demonstrate excellent time management, leadership skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Use passion and creativity for menu creation to showcase consistently vibrant and exciting dishes

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar role
  • Red Seal certification or equivalent is an asset
  • Food Safe Certificate is required
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
  • Previous experience working in a remote lodge/camp environment is an asset

We are currently seeking 2-3 enthusiastic individuals to fill a full-time, temporary maintenance position at our Bell 2
Lodge location. Bell 2 Lodge offers world class heli skiing in the winter season [mid-December to mid-April] and operates
as a hotel during the summer months. The General Labourer positions will run from now until December. Duties will
include but not be limited to: painting, cleaning, sanding, light repairs, landscaping, garbage removal, etc.

  • Preferred Skills and Core Competencies:
  • Team oriented and genuine interest to learn.
  • Experience working with basic equipment and tools for grounds maintenance.
  • Any experience with other trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting is an asset.
  • Energetic and patient, with the ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Being physically fit and able to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Preference will be given to those with a first aid certificate.

We provide accommodation and meals for all employees. Our shifts are three weeks on and one week off. Given our
remote location, all communications are via satellite. There is no cell-service at Bell 2 Lodge and the internet connection
is basic [not high-speed]. With its proximity to mountains, lakes and rivers, Bell 2 Lodge is an exciting place for outdoor
