1996 brachen die Gründungspartner George Rosset, Franz Fux, Mike Watling und Geoff Straight auf, um bisher unerforschte Bergketten im Norden Britisch-Kolumbiens zu erkunden, und erste Abfahrten in dem Gebiet zu machen, das später zu „Last Frontier Heliskiing“ werden sollte.

Die Leidenschaft für solche Erkundungen und Abenteuer lebt noch heute in unserer DNA weiter. Bei Last Frontier dreht sich alles um Berge und die Suche nach Pulverschnee.

    1994

    Bell 2 Lodge wird im Herzen der Skeena Mountains im Norden von British Columbia entdeckt. Die Gründungspartner George Rosset, Franz Fux, Mike Watling und Geoff Straight sind von dem Potenzial der Gegend fasziniert und beginnen Ihre Erkundungen.

    1996

    Last Frontier initiiert, von der Bell2 Lodge aus, eine achtwöchige Probe-Heliski-Saison mit einem einzigen A-Star-Hubschrauber. Teton Gravity Research (TGR) nutzen die Gelegenheit, diesen unentdeckten Teil der Welt zu besuchen. Featured in ihrem Film Re: Session.

  • Die Geburt eines Heliski-Dorfes
    1997-2003

    Um die Bell 2 Lodge in ein Heliski-Dorf zu verwandeln, wird mit einer groβangelegten Umbauphase begonnen.

  • Ein zweites Zuhause
    2005

    Ripley Creek wird in der kleinen Gemeinde Stewart, gegenüber von Hyder, Alaska ins Leben gerufen. Die Bergführer George Feitzinger und Andre Ike erkunden das Gebiet, und erschaffen somit ein neues Heliskiing-Gebiet, das tief in die Coast Mountains eindringt.

    2008

    Last Frontier ist einer der ersten Betreiber in der Heliski-Industrie, der das Tragen eines ABS Rucksacks für alle Gäste zur Pflicht macht.

  • Erweiterung
    2010

    Ein dritter Hubschrauber wird dem Programm der Bell 2 Lodge hinzugefügt. Dies ermöglicht mehr Flexibilität für private Gruppen. Die Kapazität steigt auf 34 Gäste.

  • Verjüngung
    2013

    Modernisierung der Hauptlodge. Der Speisesaal, die Lobby und der Souvenirshop werden neu gestaltet.

  • Der Beginn eines neuen Kapitels
    2014

    Gründungspartner George Rosset und Franz Fux verkaufen ihre Anteile. Franz bleibt dem Bergführer-Team weiter erhalten und George wird von Mike Watling als geschäftsführender Teilhaber abgelöst.

    Eine komplette Überholung unseres Wellnessbereichs inklusive Trockensauna, Massageräume und Stretching Bereich.

    Die neuen Gästezimmer verfügen über verbesserte Lärmdämmung, komplett renovierte Badezimmer, ausgestattet mit Fußbodenheizung und neuer Beleuchtung. Die beliebten Speckstein-Holzöfen bleiben erhalten. Auch unser Café haben wir komplett überholt.

Job Description

The Massage Therapist is to perform professional massage treatments to our Heliskiing guests and host a stretch class
every morning. This position is also responsible for preparing all daily massage equipment and supplies as well as prebooking
any massage requests.

Preferred Skills and Core Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere, welcoming guests and introducing massage
    procedures.
  • Offer professional massage treatments in accordance with accepted certification practices.
  • Be flexible with your schedule to support the needs of the guests.
  • Lead an approximate 45 minute stretch class every morning.
  • Handle guest questions and concerns professionally, and courteously.

Last Frontier Heliskiing is seeking a solution-oriented and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Logistics & Maintenance Coordinator at our Ripley Creek location in Stewart, BC.

In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with the Ski Technician to support the daily logistics of our heliskiing program—including guest transportation, and equipment maintenance and coordination. You’ll also be responsible for facility upkeep of all buildings and facilities operated by Last Frontier Heliskiing in Stewart during the winter months, which includes identifying and addressing maintenance issues proactively, to ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.

This is a multi-faceted position with close involvement in both the guest ski program and daily lodge operations, reporting to the Lodge Manager and Operations/Guiding Manager. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a remote, fast-paced environment, takes initiative, and excels at creative problem solving—especially when plans change or challenges arise.

With a wide variety of responsibilities and a significant daily workload, the right candidate must demonstrate strong time management and prioritization skills. You’ll need to balance competing demands efficiently—whether it’s coordinating guest transfers, managing equipment logistics, or troubleshooting facility issues—while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor and consistently delivering a high standard of service.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Act as daily driver for guest transfers, alongside the Ski Tech
  • Coordinate, load, and deliver guest lunches to the helipad on time each morning
  • Perform daily upkeep of hot tub and pellet stoves, with troubleshooting as needed
  • Support helicopter operations with fuel monitoring & refueling
  • Act as backup radio dispatch for heliskiing operations
  • Maintain and coordinate guest-use bicycles
  • Set up welcome presentations and assist with guest arrivals
  • Manage regular recycling and waste disposal routines
  • Lead on general building upkeep and maintenance
  • Anticipate operational or maintenance needs and address issues before they arise
  • Take initiative to improve systems and contribute to a safe, smooth operation

This is a seasonal, live-on-site position based in remote Northern BC. Working rotations are based on a 3-week on, 1-week off schedule, working 10hrs per day. Lodging and all meals are provided while working.

Transport between the lodge and Terrace or Smithers is provided for your time off. Subsidized accommodation and lift passes are available in Smithers for your scheduled time off.

Job Summary

The Line Cook, reporting to the Head Chef and Lodge Manager, is to provide quality dishes which have been prepared, cooked and presented according to company standards and within timescales required for the restaurant.

The ideal candidate is keen to be a jack of all trade with a positive attitude and proven flexible approach.

This role is required to assist daily with all aspects of kitchen maintenance to include cleaning schedule, stock rotation, dishwashing.

Essential Duties and responsibilities.

  • All aspects of food preparation, cooking and presenting of dishes according to company guidelines / customer preferences.
  • Maximizing customer satisfaction in the dining room by providing the highest quality of food while considering cost constraints.
  •  Maintain product consistency by inspections of products and produce which are delivered.
  • Liaise with kitchen staff and food service/bar staff regarding customer orders and general service of kitchen operations.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment, to include proper storage of food, equipment, utensils and implements, prevention of working environment hazards and accidents at work. Following an accident, ensure proper first aid and emergency procedures are followed.
  • Daily temperature checks of fridges, freezers, storage areas, deliveries and recording assessment
  • Abiding by all legal requirements, food hygiene regulations and food safety laws.
  • Cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting all kitchen areas daily.
  • Maintaining and handling knives safely throughout work activities.
  • Maintaining a professional, safe and hygienic appearance on duty.
  • Dishwashing activities including use of machine (storing, stacking and pre-rinsing), cleaning the filters and dishwashing equipment.

The ideal candidate is keen to be a jack of all trade with a positive attitude and proven flexible approach; a sandwich artist who likes doing prep work half of the day and possibly dishwashing the other half. This role requires to assist daily with all aspects of kitchen maintenance to include cleaning schedule, stock rotation, dishwashing.

This is a winter seasonal position, ideal for hospitality professionals with genuine hosting skills who thrive in a dynamic, upscale environment.

Essential Duties and responsibilities.

  • Fine Dining Service – Provide polished, attentive service for breakfast, après-ski, and elegant multi-course dinners (up to 36 seats), presenting daily menus and guiding guests through wine pairings.
  • Bartending & Mixology – Create classic and signature cocktails, prepare house-made syrups and garnishes, and maintain an inviting bar atmosphere from après-ski through late evening.
  • Wine & Beverage Expertise – Offer detailed recommendations from our curated wine list; confidently suggest pairings to elevate each dining experience.
  • Barista – Proficient in the art of espresso extraction, milk frothing techniques and basic latte art creation.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of menus, local ingredients, and daily features to answer questions and personalize service.
  • Monitor and record bar and service inventory, communicating shortages and assisting with orders.
  • Ensure immaculate cleanliness and organization of bar, dining, and storage areas at all times.

We are seeking an experienced, energetic and motivated leader to join our team at Ripley Creek for the upcoming winter season. The Assistant Lodge Manager plays a critical leadership role in the seamless day-to-day operations of our world-class heliskiing resort. This hands-on position supports the Lodge Manager in all aspects of lodge operations, with a focus on delivering an exceptional guest experience. This includes overseeing the restaurant and bar, retail, maintenance, housekeeping, regular administration including basic accounting, and basic human resource management. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills, and has the ability to make swift, informed decisions while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and safety. You will act as the Lodge Manager’s deputy and assume full operational responsibility in their absence.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the hospitality industry (hotel, resort or travel, ideally in a remote lodge environment)
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience, ideally in high-end hospitality or lodge environment, with fine dining and bar oversight
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, POS Systems, PMS Software, and capable of easily learning new systems
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in reporting, cost control or complex reconciliations
  • Exceptionally strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Be self-motivated and hold high personal standards for performance
  • Ability to work away from home and work long hours
  • Serving it Right (or ability and willingness to obtain)
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 50lbs when necessary
  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business Management, or a related field an asset
  • Multilingual abilities are an asset

This is a seasonal, live-on-site position based in the small town of Stewart, in remote Northern BC. Working rotations are based on a 3-week on, 1-week off schedule, working 10hrs per day.

Lodging and all meals are provided while working. Transport between the lodge and Terrace or Smithers is provided for your time off. Subsidized accommodation and lift passes are available in Smithers for your scheduled time off.

Last Frontier Heliskiing has been a pioneering force in heliskiing and heli boarding since 1996. We offer a range of heliski tours from two unique lodging experiences in Northern British Columbia. The Ski Guide is responsible for his or her helicopter group within a 3-group ski program. This position involves supporting the Lead Guide to ensure that the ski program flows as planned to ensure a safe, enjoyable skiing experience for the guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe and enjoyable day of heliskiing for Last Frontier Guests.
  • Assist with the lead guides plan and execute the days skiing program for the assigned helicopter.
  • Follow the lead guides run choice at all times, whenever practical.
  • Ensure run list is adhered to as per Last Frontier Heliskiing policy.
  • Load Lunch and water on board helicopter for the day.
  • Attend and participate at all guide meetings.
  • Actively participate with down day activities.
  • Assist with vertical reports and flight time entries.
  • Ensure season profiles and snow safety records are up to date.
  • Prepare weather briefings on a rotation basis.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed.
  • Help brief guests with beacons and helicopters.
  • Assist in ski shop when required.
  • Assist in transporting luggage etc. on transfer days.
  • Adhere to Last Frontier Heliskiing risk management protocols.
  • Adhere to Last Frontier Heliskiing wildlife mitigation policies.
  • Dine with Guests during dinner time.

Skills Required:

  • Applicants must be certified through one of the following associations:
    • Ski / Mountain Guide – Association of Canadian Mountain Guides
    • Ski Guide – Canadian Ski Guide Association
    • Mountain Guide – International Federation of Mountain Guides Association

Full-time, Fixed term contract

Expected start date: December 16, 2023 / Expected end date: April 13, 2024

Salary: $47.50 per hour
